We speak of loss of balance when, despite being still, standing or sitting, we feel a sensation of movement, as if we were turning.
This phenomenon can be caused by a variety of conditions, such as dizziness, inner ear infections or inflammation, influenza, upper respiratory infections, Ménière's disease, post-traumatic brain injury, intense exercise, changes in atmospheric pressure, seasickness, iron deficiency anemia, and many others.
For example, some diseases typical of aging, such as arthritis, can result in balance problems.

Symptoms associated with the problem also include: blurred vision, confusion and disorientation, nausea, anxiety or fear, fatigue, changes in blood pressure or heart rate.

In case of loss of balance it is important to contact a professional to identify the cause of the problem and address it in the most appropriate way.
