Jaw pain is a problem that manifests itself with a more or less intense painful sensation affecting the lower jaw (the maxillary bone or mandible), the adjacent tissues and in particular the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).

Possible causes are: excessive stress, trauma, fractures, infections of the jaw and mandible, joint problems and congenital malformations, but also incorrect posture and misalignment of the spine.

Only after a thorough diagnostic investigation will it be possible to identify the specific cause in order to intervene.
In transient cases, to relieve the pain, it may be useful to take anti-inflammatory drugs, apply hot or cold compresses, relax the jaw muscles with massage or simply rest.
