WHAT IS IT
Also called asthenopia, it is a visual disorder that occurs due to an overload of the eyes and the most frequent symptoms with which it presents are: tearing, burning, dry eyes, sensitivity to light, blurred/double vision, headache.

CAUSE
This tiredness comes from the excessive effort of the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the eyeball. Every time you look at an object up close, in fact, it is necessary to activate the eye muscles to focus on it, subjecting them to a real effort that, in the long term, can lead to eye fatigue.
It therefore mainly affects people subjected to visual stress (e.g. video terminal operators) and those affected by inadequately corrected visual defects, including myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia, strabismus, dry eye syndrome.

REMEDIES
Remedies vary depending on the underlying cause.
It is generally recommended to wear glasses with custom correction, to modify the lighting in the workplace and to use artificial tears to keep the ocular surface constantly lubricated.
