Ultrasound therapy

Ultrasound therapy uses mechanical vibrations, generated by high-frequency sound waves, to the skin and soft tissues through an aqueous solution (gel). A gel is applied to both the applicator and the skin, helping the sound waves to penetrate the skin evenly. The ultrasonic applicator converts the power of the device into acoustic power, which can generate thermal or non-thermal effects. The sound waves create microscopic stimulation in the molecules of deep tissue, increasing heat and friction. The heating effect promotes healing of soft tissue by increasing metabolism at the cellular level of the tissue.
